At least five people were killed by a speeding train when they were crossing tracks in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh Saturday evening, said local TV channel Times Now.
The report said earlier eight were feared killed when two trains collided or when one train derailed.
The report quoted officials at the railway as saying that it finally turned out an incident which took place in the state's Vizianagram district when some passengers were run over by a speeding train at a railway station.
