Five people died on Friday in the crash of a small plane in Caldas Novas, Goias state, midwestern Brazil, authorities said.
The plane, a Seneca 3 model, crashed Friday morning into the woods near the Nelson Ribeiro Guimaraes airport as it prepared to land, according to rescue workers, who said that the plane\'s undercarriages were out already.
The five victims included three men and two women.
The plane was supposed to make a stop in Caldas Novas for refueling.
The local Center for the Investigation and Prevention of Aircraft Accidents has been called to investigate the causes of the crash.
Rescue workers, however, suspected that the plane may run out of fuel, as there were no explosions, fires or even fuel leaks at the crash site.
