At least five people were killed and 20 injured in
an earthquake Wednesday in eastern Iran, dpa quoted Fars news agency as reporting.
The quake of magnitude 5.5 hit the town of the town Zohan, in the
Khorasan province near the provincial cities of Birjand and Ghaen,
where residents fled their homes in panic.
There was no immiediate confirmation of the death toll from the
Iranian interior ministry, which is responsible for managing natural
disasters.
