Four inmates at Oklahoma\'s Caddo County jail escaped by prying open a maintenance hatch in the shower area, police said.
The inmates, three convicted in drug cases and the fourth held on a gun charge, were the first to escape from the 2-year-old jail in Anadarko, Sheriff Gene Cain said.
They broke the lock on the maintenance hatch above a shower head Sunday and crawled to a wall where they broke out a concrete block, Cain told KFOR-TV, Oklahoma City.
The inmates\' orange prison jumpsuits were found outside the jail, KOCO-TV, Oklahoma City, reported.
Three of the inmates, Dylan Ray Three Irons, 21, Prime Brown, 23, and Anthony James Mendonca, 24, were convicted of methamphetamine charges and were scheduled to be transferred to a state prison, CNN reported.The fourth inmate, Triston Cheadle, 32, was awaiting trial on a federal gun charge, KOCO reported.
