At least 22 laborers were killed while 34 others sustained injuries as a speeding goods-laden truck, they were travelling in, overturned in southern state of Karnataka, police said. The incident happened at Belgaum district when the truck driver lost control and hit roadside, adding, most of the dead were farmers who were on their way for work on daily wages, police said. Ten children and three women were among the dead persons, police added. Around 50 people were travelling in the truck and at least 30 people sustained injuries, they noted. The injured have been hospitalized and relief and rescue teams have been rushed to the spot. The police and state administration are investigating the incident.
