Harare - XINHUA
Twenty people are feared killed Wednesday morning in a road crash near Chipinge town in southeast Zimbabwe, according to local media reports.
A lorry, carrying 30 people to attend a funeral, collided head- on with a fuel tanker about 15 km away from Checheche Growth point, causing the tanker to explode, the Newsday newspaper said in an on- line report.
Police have confirmed the accident but have not disclosed the casualty figures.
Road accidents are common in Zimbabwe where the authorities blame poor road conditions, bad driving habits like speeding, and lax law enforcement for the growing road crashes.
