A shooting in the South Ward neighborhood of Newark, N.J., left two young teenagers dead and a third in critical condition, authorities said.
The shooting happened Wednesday at about 10 p.m., the (Newark) Star-Ledger reported.
Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio said a 13-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were pronounced dead at University Hospital in Newark. A third juvenile victim, whose age was not reported, is in critical, but stable, condition, DeMaio said.
Police said the teens were not the intended targets of the shooting. There was no report of whether police had any suspects or leads in the case.
