At least two intruders were shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) on the international border with Pakistan in Indias northern state of Punjab, BSF officials said Saturday. BSF officials said the two intruders were allegedly Pakistani nationals and happened to be smugglers, adding the encounter with them took place near the border in Punjab.
BSF further said that they have also recovered four packets of heroin worth 200 million rupees in the international market from their possession of dead intruders. Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier, Ajay Kumar Tomar, told the media that one Pistol with 15 live Rounds and four mobile phones along with 1300 rupees Pakistani currency were also recovered from them. Recently, Pakistan and India have agreed to jointly patrol the borders to stop drug smuggling.
