At least two people were killed in Ecuador after a 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, on Wednesday.

Local Media reported that about eight others were wounded in the earthquake which centered in the northern edge of Quito and at a depth of 12 km.
Rescue workers are seeking to free others trapped after the tremor.
