People run after an explosion was heard inside Zaventem airport in Brussels, Belgium

Eleven persons were killed and 25 others injured in two explosions have struck the departures area of Zaventem airport in Brussels, the BBC reported.

Emergency services have cleared the airport completely and flights were suspended.

Belgium's Het Laatste Nieuws reports that more bombs have been found.

Belgium has now raised its terror threat to its highest level.

Belgian police cordoned off the airport in the wake of the two explosions.
