At least 10 people were killed and several others injured in an accident in Brazil's southeastern state of Sao Paulo, police said Sunday.
A commuter bus, with about 50 passengers aboard, crashed into a ravine along the Regis Bittencourt Highway at about 2:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) on its way to Rio de Janeiro from the southern city of Curitiba, Brazil's federal highway police said.
Rescue teams were sent immediately to the site and the injured were taken to the nearby hospitals, Brazil's local media G1 news portal reported.
The rescue work was continuing at 6:30 a.m. (0830 GMT), the report said.
