10 people were killed in attack carried by Boko Haram gunmen in Buno State northeast Nigeria.
Eye witnesses said the victims had fled their homes to escape repeated attacks by the insurgents, after hunting them down in a nearby village.
Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan earlier vowed to eliminate the militant group, after accusing them of killing 13 thousand Nigerians and injuring tens of thousands since they launched their insurgency in the northeast of the country in 2009.
