Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails enter 22nd day of hunger strike

As many as 1600 Palestinian prisoners held in the Israeli jails continued an open hunger strike for the 22nd day in a row.

Head of prisoners affairs for the Palestinian Authority Issa Qaraqe said that the Israeli government is not yet serious about starting talks with the prisoners on their demands.

Qaraqe expressed concern over the lives of the strikers.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Archbishop Sebastia Atallah Hanna started on Monday a hunger strike in solidarity with the prisoners.
