The public prosecution remanded former presidential speaker Yasser Ali in custody for more 15 days pending investigations for helping a convict - ex-prime minister Hisham Qandil - to escape justice after the latter was sentenced to prison. Ali is also facing charges of joining the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group. Investigations proved that the former presidential speaker assisted Qandil to flee after a misdemeanor court upheld a one-year jail sentence against him over his failure to put into effect a court in favor of workers of the Nile Cotton company.
