If Eid Al Fitr falls on Sunday (June 25), the private sector will enjoy an extended four-day weekend off. First and second days of Shawwal will be paid Eid Al Fitr holidays for the private sector, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared.
This came in a ministerial circular issued by Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Ghobash conveyed his best wishes for Eid Al Fitr to the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
The minister also congratulated the UAE citizens and residents on the occasion, wishing the country further progress and prosperity, and "more pride and glory for Arab and Islamic nations".
