Beirut - KUNA
Clashes between rival factions resumed after a brief halt in northern Lebanon's Tripoli as machine gun rounds and sniper shootings were heard across the city. Army units have been locked in fierce clashes with the locals as roads in the city have been virtually paralyzed due to the worsening security situation, reported the state National News Agency on Sunday. The violence, which has been on and off since the start of tensions in neighbouring Syria has killed six and injured 29 others, eight of them soldiers, since Saturday.
