Syrian army continued its advances in Reef (countryside of) Damascus, Reef Idlib and Qalamoun mountainous areas. In Reef Damascus, the army conducted two military operations in Rankus and Asal al-Vard regions paving the way for making major advances in Al-Arbaeen mountainous region. In Reef Idlib, the Syrian army units targeted and killed a large number of Al-Nusra terrorists in Suburban Jisr al-Shughur area. In Ma\'arrat Numan in Reef Idlib, the army repelled an attack by armed rebels on Al-Zalaneh and Al-Hamediya villages. The Syrian army units also made major advances in Qalamoun mountainous area near the border with Lebanon. The Qalamoun Mountains are a mountain range in Western Syria, North of the capital Damascus. The Syrian army made major advances in Reef Damascus on Saturday, and killed tens of armed rebels in heavy clashes. “The army made advances in Al-Hojeira town of Reef Damascus,” an informed source told FNA, adding, “The number of terrorists killed in the operations exceeded 120.” The source noted that clean-up operations were carried out in Al-Hojeira district to secure the Sayeda Zeinab district of Damascus. “The Syrian army also targeted and destroyed two arms depot of the armed rebels near the main square of Al-Hojeira,” he added. According to the source, the terrorists used the depots for keeping bombs, rockets and different other munitions. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against the Syrian police, border guards, statesmen, army and civilians being reported across the country. Thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.
