President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined keenness on improving conditions of all Egyptian lakes suffering environmental deterioration.
He noted that developing lakes requires about 2 billion pounds each.
The remark came in response to a call by a parliament member on the president to intervene to solve the Lake Manzala problem.
Sisi said lakes are part of the state's wealth and they can bring about huge gains if they were optimally used.
The president called on the media to be objective and spread awareness among people.
