Head of the 50-strong constitutional drafting committee Amr Moussa stressed that Defense Minister Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is the most popular figure in Egypt now and his chance to win presidential polls, if he decided to run in, will be very big. Moussa, in an interview with Saudi newspaper Okaz out Sunday, denied that allowing Sisi to be the president of Egypt would help cement the role of the army in the political life within the coming period. The army is highly respected by the Egyptians because of its patriotic role during the January 25 and June 30 revolutions and it is a national institution despite some attempts to challenge it, he added.
