At least nine Iraqi were killed and 38 others injured on Friday when a powerful explosion rocked a restaurant in the northern city of Mosul, Niniveh Province. A senior security official at Niniveh Operations Command told KUNA that the massive blast occurred when an improvised explosive device went off inside the restaurant, located at the Cultural Complex in northern Mosul. In separate incidents, gunmen blew up two houses of a tribal Sheikh and a Colonel rank police officer in Nineveh but no human causalities were reported.
