Ousted president Mohamed Morsi will hire one lawyer or more as a procedural measure but he does not acknowledge the existing court, said member of Morsi’s defense team Mohamed el-Damaty. In an interview with “Al-Arabiya TV” Saturday, Damaty said Morsi deems the 2012 constitution effective and does not recognize its suspension. Damaty said so far he is in charge of defending Morsi in the case better known in the media as the “Ittihadiya trial”, where he is accused of inciting violence, killing and thuggery acts. Morsi is also facing trial over other charges, including espionage and insulting the judiciary.
