Former assistant foreign minister Mokhlis Qotb said that the United Nations ought to take further measures aimed at ending the Israeli settlements in the occupied west bank. 
Qotb added that the Israeli practices seek to obliterate the identity of Al Quds through looting the historical documents of Al Aqsa Mosque and violating its sanctity. 
Qotb urged the UNESCO to take the needed measures to preserve Al Quds and Al Aqsa mosque as they are considered cultural heritage.
