Cairo - MENA
Interim President Adly Mansour issued an anti-corruption law that prevents conflict of interest (COI) at state institutions. The law was issued in light of the rampant corruption at state institution due to officials holding several posts, helping them abuse powers to embezzle public funds and make a fortune illegally, which is one of the reasons that sparked the 2011 January revolution, said presidential spokesman Ehab Badawy. The law will fill a legal loophole that allowed influence-peddling and achieving personal gains, he said.
