The GCC Youth Conference came to a close here on Thursday with the attendance of 700 senior officials, youths and sports figures, females and males, from the GCC member countries. The conference, organized by the GCC Secretariat, discussed six main topics covering the GCC, aspirations of young people, health, sports and entertainment industry, community building, youth initiatives, security in the eyes of the youths, and training policies and innovation, employment and building skills. During the conference, ideas were discussed regarding proposals addressing the importance of finding venues for the youths to interact with their surroundings, and to become creative with aspirations. The conference also dealt with ways to create a strong community, coherent, and capable of confronting regional and international changes, including the possibility of establishing an association for Youth (GCC) to support initiatives under the umbrella of the GCC General Secretariat to strengthen the role of civil society. Earlier, addressing the opening ceremony GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani cast light on the major challenges facing the GCC states, including the future vision of the member countries and how to provide safe, stable and sustainable environment for the citizens of those countries. He also reviewed the strategic goals of the GCC, including the protection of its members from political, social and economic threats as well as all kinds of crime.
