FNC members tour public institutions, projects in Ras al-Khaimah

The members of the Federal National Council, FNC, headed by Speaker Dr Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, visited a number of governmental institutions and projects in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to experience first-hand the progress and achievements made by the government in the emirate.

This tour comes as part of initiatives featuring in the FNC's strategic plan for the period 2016-2021 that seeks to promote community partnership through field visits, as a key pillar to enable discussions over various issues related to improving services for citizens and partnership with the government to achieve the goals of the UAE Vision 2021.

This tour also seeks to learn more about the important achievements being made in the emirate, as part of the country’s efforts to boost economic diversification, as well as achieve happiness for its people.

The FNC's tour included the Ras al-Khaimah Centre for Rehabilitation of the Disabled, where the speaker conveyed the greetings of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The FNC and the government give special attention to this segment of the population and was seeking to promote their full integration into the society as productive and highly-effective members, Dr. Al Qubaisi stressed.

The 2016-2021 strategic plan reflects the well-balanced parliamentary action that aims to achieve happiness for all people, and the wise leadership's efforts to promote national interests and the country's global stature, Dr. Al Qubaisi noted.

The five-year plan is built on pillars that reflect the approach of the leadership and includes a political empowerment programme launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2005, she said.

Field visits mark a new approach for the FNC, where community partnerships, initiatives, participation and co-ordination with government departments will be further promoted in support of the country's policies and vision, Dr. Al Qubaisi revealed.

The FNC delegation also visited the Ras al-Khaimah Police, the Ras al-Khaimah Fishermen Cooperative Society and the Julphar Health Centre
