Finance Minister Amr el Garhy allocated some 5.8 billion pounds to the ministries of supply, transportation and electricity, the Egyptian Radio and Television Union and the Social Housing Fund in order to meet the citizens' needs. 

In statements Monday, Deputy Finance Minister for Public Treasury Mohamed Maeit said that some 1.5 billion pounds was allocated to the Supply Ministry and 500 million pounds was allocated to the Social Housing Fund to provide the necessary funds for the national program for social housing. 

He also said that the allocations include 2.5 billion pounds to support electricity companies.
