Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al Moallem

Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al Moallem received Thursday a delegation from the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce that will participate in the 59th Damascus International Fair, headed by Chairman of the Federation Ahmed el Wakil.
Moallem welcomed the Egyptian delegation and reviewed the historic ties binding the peoples of Syria and Egypt, stressing the importance of developing bilateral economic relations, SANA news agency reported.
The Syrian top diplomat reiterated that the level and volume of the Egyptian participation in the event reflect Cairo’s sincere desire to enhance relations with Damascus.
On that score, he asserted the importance of continuing such visits and meetings for promoting prospects of cooperation between the two countries.
Moallem also briefed the Egyptian delegation on the latest developments in Syria and the Syrian Arab Army’s achievements towards realizing stability to the country as soon as possible, lauding the Syrian people’s resilience.
He pointed out that Syria and Egypt are facing one regionally and internationally-backed common enemy, that is the Takfiri terrorism, which necessitates unifying efforts to eliminate it.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Egyptian delegation el Wakil expressed the delegation’s pleasure to visit Syria, asserting that their visit and Egypt’s participation in Damascus Fair shows a true desire to give momentum to bilateral relations. The fair runs from August 17-26.
Wakil appreciated Syria’s steadfastness in the terrorist war waged against it, reiterating the Egyptians' support for people in Syria.
