Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawy expressed optimism about the huge turnout on day one of the two-day constitutional referendum. In statements to MENA Tuesday, he said all Egyptians are well aware of the importance of the current stage in Egypt's history, noting that all sects of the Egyptian society participate in the referendum to do their "national duty." He highlighted coordination between the army and the police to secure polling stations.
