Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit underlined the importance of promoting and enhancing human rights at the Arab level.

The International Human Rights Day, which is observed today, represents a memory for one of the most important achievements attained by the international community, he added. 

The pan-Arab body attaches great importance to promoting and protecting human rights at the Arab level, he affirmed. 

He further pointed out to the tireless efforts exerted in this sphere. 

Every year, communities throughout the world celebrate the Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the UN General Assembly on December 10, 1948.
