Seven Iraqi soldiers were killed and another serviceman was injured in an attack by unknown gunmen in Ninawa province on Tuesday, a security source said. The source from Ninawa operations command told KUNA unidentified gunmen set up a bogus checkpoint and killed seven soldiers while seriously injuring another before fleeing the scene. No one claimed responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile, an Iraqi force clashed with an armed group near a police station near the borders with Syria. The clashes resulted in the arrest of five gunmen.
