The 18th session of the Arab environment and development committee kicked off here Sunday at the level of senior officials.
The committee will discuss and prepare the agenda of the 28th session of the Arab environment affairs council, set for Thursday.
Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Arab Environment Ministers Council Gamal Gaballah said the three-day meeting will probe a set of issues relevant to environment and development that would be floated at the Arab environment ministers council and its executive office.
The meeting will also follow up the implementation of resolutions approved by the World Summit on Sustainable Development as well as the sustainable development initiative in the Arab region.
