Israeli extremist settlers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque

Some 135 Israeli extremist settlers early Thursday stormed al-Aqsa Mosque/ Haram al-Sharif compound in occupied Jerusalem.

The General Director of the Islamic Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Khatib, told Petra's reporter in Ramallah the assault took palce at Al-Magharebah Gate.

During the raid, settlers were briefed on the so-called "Temple Mount," and attempted to perform Talmudic rituals to mark the event of the Jewish Hanukkah holidays, which continue until next Monday.
