The World Food Programme

The World Food Programme (WFP) highlighted the need for bold and constructive partnerships between governments, business and organizations that will create the needed momentum towards achieving Zero Hunger and shaping a brighter future for millions of children.

In a statement distributed by the WFP office in Cairo on the occasion of celebrating the World Food Day, which falls on October 16, it pointed out to the implementation of "participating with a meal,", noting that more than 620,00 people donated through a click by their mobiles.

The program contributes to the emergency cases, which are taking place due to conflicts, including the current crises in Syria, Iraq, South Sudan and Yemen, added the statement.

WFP is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. Each year, WFP assists some 80 million people in around 80 countries.
