Egypt's largest employment fair, organized by the US Embassy in Cairo in partnership with Job Nile, attracted 11,000 job seekers with applications in hand, the embassy said in a statement Monday.
The event featured 72 local and international companies offering more than 5,000 jobs, as well as thousands of training opportunities to qualified Egyptians.
The day-long fair was held at The Greek Campus in downtown Cairo.
US Ambassador Stephen Beecroft spoke with job seekers and representatives from participating companies. “It’s critical for any society…to be able to offer opportunities to its young people,” Ambassador Beecroft said. “That’s what we’re trying to help with here in Egypt, because we need Egypt to continue to play the fundamental role it has played for years…in leading the region to peace and prosperity.”
The event organizer, Job Nile – Recruitment & HR Systems, has had excellent success in coordinating employment fairs in Egypt for the past 23 years. This is the third consecutive year that the US has sponsored the Job Nile fair, working especially with Egyptians who have participated in our professional and academic exchange visits to the United States.
The annual fair underscores the US Embassy’s commitment to initiatives that support Egypt’s economic growth and prosperity. Last year’s fair, for example, resulted in the recruitment and placement of more than 1,500 Egyptians in full-time jobs. Yesterday’s fair also provided information on an array of study and exchange opportunities available through the US Embassy, including information about our Information Resource Center (IRC) in Cairo.
