President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed on Monday the deep-rooted relations between Egypt and Sudan, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef said.
This came during the president’s meeting with Sudanese Defense Minister Ahmed Awad Ibn Auf in which Egyptian Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi and Sudanese ambassador in Cairo had also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the president asserted that the current period requires intensifying coordination and consultations between the two Arab countries and called for not allowing any problems to affect their significant relations.
Egypt’s policy is based on good neighborliness, not to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, fostering cooperation to reach peace, construction and development.
Ibn Auf conveyed Sudanese President Omar al Bashir’s greeting to Sisi. He also stressed his country’s keenness on boosting mutual ties with Egypt as well as coordinating efforts in various files to confront challenges facing the sisterly countries.
The Sudanese minister pointed out to Egypt’s leading role in the region, saying that Egypt’s security is part and parcel of Sudan and the Arab region’s security.
Meanwhile, Sisi told the Sudanese minister to convoy his greetings to Bashir.
The meeting also agreed on holding a meeting for the joint military committee to discuss means of fostering bilateral relations.
