A Yemeni oil worker is in a critical condition after setting himself on fire in front of government headquarters in the capital Sanaa. The worker, believed to be a former employee of Canadian company Nexen, carried out the act in protest after the Ministry of Petroleum failed to respond to his complaint against the firm. Witnesses told Arabstoday that the man set himself on fire outside the Cabinet building, after covering his body in petrol. Locals interevened to extinguish the fire and took him to a local hospital, where he is in a critical condition. According to reports, up to 270 workers are demanding a better pay off deal from the energy company, after losing their jobs.
