Yemeni security forces have used “excessive force” to disperse demonstrators rallying in front of government buildings in Sanaa, in solidarity with protesters injured during the country’s 2011 Arab Spring uprising. Police broke up the demonstration using tear gas and batons, activist sources told Arabstoday. 7 protesters were injured in clashes, including parliamentarian Ahmed Seif Hashed. Hashed joined Tuesday’s protests after a similar clampdown injured two demonstrators two weeks ago. Yemeni officials reportedly sent protesters for treatment at foreign hospitals.
