Tunisian border patrol guards managed to stop a white KIA truck full of weapons, as it tried to cross the Tunisian-Algerian border on Saturday.Security sources confirmed that the truck, allegedly belonging to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, was carrying Kalashnikovs, grenades, ammunition and liquid substances as well as equipment used for manufacturing explosives. There were also training and fighting manuals along with hand-drawn maps showing security and military patrol points along the Algerian-Tunisian border. Security forces also seized Algerian and Afghani military uniforms.
Sources told Arabstoday that two Salfist young men were arrested in Jendouba town on the north border, while two others were able to escape.
They added that the truck and young detainees were moved to the capital, while joint security patrols from both countries and the army embarked on a search of all the border villages.
