Amman - Iman Abu Kaoud
Jordanian authorities have seized a cache of highly valuable historic artifacts in the northern Irbid province, before they were due to be illegally sold in a village market.
Local media reported the relics, worth an estimated $400,000, included pottery, mason work and metallic objects.
Security forces arrested four people in connection with the artefacts’ sale.
Irbid authorities are now in consultations with archaeologists to ascertain the age and value of the antique pieces.
