Beirut - Georges Chahine
United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the Lebanese city of Sidon has extended the deadline for new refugees arriving from Syria to register themselves, by one day.
The new date of June 26 means that aid packages will be handed to refugees on Tuesday, July 2 instead of Friday, June 28. The extension is down to the tense security situation in Sidon over the last few days.
Syrian refugees arriving in other Lebanese towns had between June 12 and 25 to register their details.
