UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly on Thursday said the Syrian crisis was the major effective factor entailing Lebanon's stability, state-run Lebanon's National News Agency reported.
Addressing a seminar titled "UN and stability of small states" at Issam Fares Center in Beirut, he pointed out that the UN and the Security Council clearly understand the menaces emerging against Lebanon in this concern and Lebanon's needs to surpass the repercussions of the said crisis.
The international community has offered $ 625 million for relief of the Syrian refugee, he said.
Plumbly underscored the necessity to provide more international support for local institutions in order to solve the displaced Syrians' issue.
He also called for forming a cabinet as soon as possible to hold presidential elections on due date and prevent any vacuum.
