UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said that "Firmness Storm" military operation, led by Saudi Arabia with the participation of a number of Gulf states, against Hothis in Yemen came upon the request of the Yemeni government.
In several tweets on Thursday, Gargash described the military intervention in Yemen as a "difficult" decision.
He also pointed out that Gulf countries should have respond to the Iranian strategic changes practiced by Houthis in the region.
The decision to start military operations was not a hasty one, but followed intensive political efforts and genuine initiatives, he said.
Meanwhile, he called for taking advantage of Firmness Storm military operation to launch a wide-scale Gulf-Arab cooperation that protects Arab nation's security and stability.
