A young Salafist has been killed in clashes with security forces in the Tunisian province of Sosa, eyewitnesses have reported. Mahmoud Mourad died as security forces fired tear gas to disperse demonstrations. Three other protesters were injured. Protests erupted after authorities called for the arrest of another Salafist. A range of Tunisia’s Islamist organisation called for protests following Friday prayers outside Sosa’s Grand Mosque, claiming authorities are regularly biased and violent towards the country’s Salafist community.
