Tunisian Prime Minister Hamady el-Jebali has announced the failure of a previous proposal to form a technocratic government following the assassination of left-wing leader Chokri Belaid. Jebali claimed political parties had not warmed to the idea since the assassination and failed ministerial reshuffle, adding he would meet with Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki to discuss the next steps for Tunisia’s floundering political consensus. Negotiations between different political blocs were still an option, the Prime Minister said on Monday.
