Security forces arrested a militant network responsible for the recent bombings in Baghdad, Spokesman for Baghdad operations, Brigadier Saad Maan has announced.
Maan said in a press statement that "Counter-terrorism and Intelligence Directorate in Baghdad in coordination with the military intelligence Friday arrested the militant network responsible for the recent militant acts in Baghdad that targeted people in Bab Al-Muazzam and Al-Karrada, near Al Yarmouk hospital, with explosives and a car bomb." In another security development in Iraq, five elements of the awakening forces were injured in bomb blasts in southern Baghdad.
A security source said an adhesive bomb, placed inside a civilian car carrying five members of the awakening members, exploded upon their arrival at Hor Rajab in southern of Baghdad causing various injuries.
