Syrian troops bombed Lebanon during clashes with Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters, security sources have claimed. A host of government shells hit Al Hisha as well as areas close to Al Khalesa and Bokea. The latest bombings have increased a wave of displacement, as Lebanese citizens move away from borders with Syria. Lebanese authorities have meanwhile renewed their commitment to a policy of “self-distancing,” in attempts to avoid the country being dragged into the 22-month Syrian conflict between rebels and forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad.
