Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi declared on Sunday that the Syrian conflict is of foremost importance to Egyptian foreign policy. The president said a solution to the crisis will only be found if there are regional and international commitments to end the fighting. During a meeting with United Nations envoy Lakhdar Ibrahimi on Sunday, Morsi said; "The Syrian conflict will remain top priority in Egyptian foreign policy; we are keen to continue coordination and consultation with the leaders of the world to discuss future steps."
