Algiers – Hocine Bousalah
Leader of Algerian party, Movement of the Society for Peace, Bouguerra Soltani has confirmed that problems surrounding political parties in the country are not spontaneous, but spurred by “players of the ruling regime.”
During a political meeting on Friday, Soltani accused “actors within the Algerian regime” of encouraging needless debates, adding that “whatever is happening in Algeria is the beginning of a political birth aimed to be different than any previous experience.”
Soltani questioned the credibility of 2012’s elections and accused the authority of already arranging 2014’s presidential agenda. He stressed that the “expected changes” at the top level of the ruling party will serve within the next agenda.
“The rearrangement of the situation following the presidential coalition might succeed in making national consensus through temporary alliances," Soltani said, "but if this happens, the election held in 2012 becomes questionable."
