Beirut - Georges Chahine
Large sit-ins have swept the Lebanese town of Jalala in Bekaa after the kidnapping of a local imam in mysterious circumstances.
Sheikh Irfan Almarbone disappeared five days ago during a visit to a Palestinian faction stationed on the border between Lebanon and Syria.
Protesters have centred their sit-in on Almarbone's mosque in Jalala, 31 kilometres east of Beirut, demanding authorities assist in the release of the cleric.
