Security was stepped up on Monday in the surroundings of the closed Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo as the trial of deposed president Mohamed Morsi is due to start soon. Also, security was intensified near the US embassy and in the vicinity of the parliament which are also located in downtown Cairo. Security forces also took all needed precautionary measures in the surroundings of the High Court of Justice in downtown Cairo.
